DASSAN Benefit @ the Darwin Railway Club
The Darwin Asylum Seeker Support and Advocacy Network (DASSAN) is a volunteer, community-based organisation that conducts visits to Asylum seekers in Darwin’s various detention centres and campaigns for a more humane and just treatment of people seeking asylum in Australia.
The night is titled “Freedom Songs” and will feature some of Darwin’s finest local performers including Dan Davies, Mark Hilton and some great African drumming and dancing. Delicious food will be available from My Sisters Kitchen, an intiative of Darwin Community Arts established in 2008 to help refugees living in Darwin meet and develop new friendships over a shared meal.
There will be great items raffled and auctioned on the night along with information on how people can become involved in DASSAN.
